Speaker Reiterates Iran's Firm Support for Lebanon's Resistance

TEHRAN Majlis Speaker Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri termed the sacred and valiant Jihad of the Islamic Resistance Movement against Zionists and voiced Iran's firm support for national resistance of Lebanon against aggression. Nateq Nouri told the visiting Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah that the Palestine issue is a strategic issue for the Islamic Republic and Iran will stand by the oppressed nation of Palestine to the end.

Nasrallah briefed the Majlis speaker on the latest developments in the occupied territories in Southern Lebanon and Bekaa. Referring to the recent Israeli threats against Lebanon, Nasrallah said that the Islamic resistance movement and the Lebanese people are resolute to counter and resist the aggressions of the Zionist regime. Turning to the recently concluded Wye Plantation Accord between the Zionist regime and Palestine Authority, he said the recent statements by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in condemnation of the accord brought hope to the oppressed nation of Palestine and world Muslims. He expressed hope that Palestine will be cleared of usurpers through solidarity and effort of all Muslims. (IRNA)
